As part of the Love Your Sewing Spaces Series, we have invited some of our blogging friends to join in the fun to show you their rooms. And remember to add YOUR sewing space to the linky party so you can be entered in the drawing for prizes including a $100 gift card to IKEA to buy some things for your sewing space!
We have two blogging friends sharing their rooms today, more on Wednesday and Friday as well as mixing some of yours in with the bunch. We have LOVED seeing your sewing spaces so far…..and you can always link up with instagram or flickr (so you don’t have to be a blogger to join in the fun ;).
Caroline from Sew Caroline–My sewing space is bright, cheerful, and almost never this tidy ;). I love sewing in a space with natural lighting, lots of space to spread out my projects and close the door when I’m finished at night ready to be returned to the next day (or week, depending on my schedule!).
My favorite part is the gigantic peg board that holds all of the essentials. I spray painted it bright blue and it holds my threads, rotary cutters, scissors, color cards, and any other random tidbits I can throw up there to make my desk area less messy. It’s most definitely my happy place.
Jess from The Sewing Rabbit–As a seamstress, clutter can be our best friend and our nemesis at the same time. We are frenemies with clutter. I always swoon when I see beautiful photos of people’s sewing or creative space, the nice clean shots of a clear desk and gorgeous cork board wall…with minimal thread spools. ‘WHERE DO THEY KEEP ALL THEIR FABRIC??!!’ I want to scream! Do they have hoards of it hiding underneath the stairwell like me (kidding…sort of). But really, where is it all stashed? Trying to get a shot of my studio is like trying to pull teeth, this was the best I could do. I am standing on a stool in the corner of the room trying desperately not to fall so I can get an aerial shot for you. There is no way I can possibly show my entire studio in one photo…because I can’t show all 4 walls. I am literally utilizing every single available space to try to stash my stuff. But this is as clean, and as good as it gets…
- My open shelving system with baskets, baskets everywhere.
- My high table with cutting mat, totally saves my back.
- My IKEA bookcase which I had my husband hang on the wall horizontally above the doorway for FABRIC STORAGE.
- My secretary table which pulls out for when I need more table / sewing space.
- The coat rack I use to hang my ironing board on.
- And my secret weapon…the lockers. I stash all kinds of big, bulky fabric in here. Just don’t open them, because it will all come falling out on you.

I love the teal colored peg board. I would love for my walls to be that color. I use 2 very small peg boards, and they really help a lot with clutter.

I love peg boards too Shirley!

I just lode the scissors wall hanging. Did you design it? Is there a pattern for it?
I am just in the process of having my basement down over for sewing. I sure like
The IKEA horizontal bookcase idea.
