No-Sew Snowflake Christmas Tree Skirt Materials
*1 yard of 60″ white felt
*1 1/4 yards of 60″ red felt
*Go! Snowflakes-7″ die cut
*Fabric Glue
*Tape Measure
*Fabric Marker or Pencil
And here is how you make it:
Step 1: Using the 1 yard of white felt cut out around 25-30 snowflakes from your GO! Snowflakes 7″ die cut.
Then take your red felt and follow these steps:
Step 2: Fold the red felt in half and then in half again so you have two folds like the illustration above on the left. The folds should be along the top and along the right hand side.
Step 3: Take a tape measure and a marker or pencil as a compass and starting at the top left corner measure down in 2 inch increments. Keep turning the tape measure to make a quarter circle two inches down from the top fold corners. Repeat this step with the tape measure except measuring 20 inches down from the top left corner. Mark this line as well. (See above illustration.)
Step 4: Cut along your marked lines in step 2. Then unfold your red felt. Once you unfold your felt, you should now have a full circle of red felt with a smaller inner circle in the middle.
Step 5: Next you will need to make a slit for the Christmas tree skirt to go around your Christmas tree. Re-fold your skirt in half and cut one fold up to the middle circle. Do NOT cut both sides….only one side like the illustration to the left shows.
Step 6: Lay your Christmas tree skirt flat and use the snowflakes you make from step one to place them around your Christmas tree skirt. Once you have them in the position where you would like them, use your fabric glue to glue them in place along the outer edges of your Christmas tree skirt.
Step 7: Allow the fabric glue to dry for at least 24 hours and then you are ready to place your No-Sew Christmas Tree Skirt Tutorial under your tree and enjoy your craftiness!!
