Have your kiddos started school yet? It’s been a whirlwind around here…new schools, new schedules and I am feeling a bit frazzled. I know I will get it under control but it’s going to take awhile. So, sewing was kind of taking a back seat last week’s craziness.
But, the good news is….that kindergarten starts up this week and I am hoping to catch a few minutes of sewing time throughout the week. I have been missing it!
The only project I have gotten done in the last little while is some handi-work with some hexies and I am slowing becoming addicted to doing them. They are soooo fun! This picture is from instagram (you can find us @simplesimonandco) of the first flower I made, but I think I am up to five now. They are super awesomely fast and great to make!
The hexagons are from Sue Daley Designs and the fabrics I am using are Cotton and Steel. I am doing them all in shades of pink and navy, and although I am not sure I will have enough for a quilt top (I only bought 8 fat quarters) maybe a fun pillow might be a good start to paper piecing. I adore Sue’s way of doing hexies because you glue them first and it is super fast to glue bunch for a flower and then sew them all together at a later time. You can check out her method on you tube HERE. It’s a good car pool project 😉
What sewing snippets have you been working on? I’d love to hear…
