We had the pleasure of meeting Michelle Jensen of Mixi Heart at Quilt Market this last spring where we were chatting all things quilting and long-arming....and she was kind enough to give us an advanced copy of her new book Little Big Stuff which is a delightful new sewing book. We saved it until now to blog about because it is now available to everyone and we don't just have to enjoy it for ourselves. You can find the book HERE (affiliate link) for under $14 dollars which is a great deal too ... View the Post

How to Make Giant Tassels
Today we want to show you a quick way to make some fun over sized yarn tassels. They are great for parties, kids room decor or even to decorate a playhouse or a teepee! We have paired them in so many ways....I love how versatile they are. Materials: cotton yard (or any yarn of your choosing), piece of cardboard 11" tall (I used a manilla folder), and scissors. ... The Simple Simon and Company Online Shop is Now OPEN!!!
Just over 5 years ago Elizabeth and I were individually running around doing every local boutique, craft fair, and bazaar we could find. Looking back on those years I can't even begin to count the number of skirts, quilts, bows, dresses, bags, and pegs dolls that we each made. Seriously...I can't image how many different handmade items that we cranked out...it was fun, and ... View the Post
Back to School Striped Dress
We are headed back to school at our house this week...and this time of year is always incentive to make a dress. I keep cherishing the "one more year" I get to make her a dress, because my worry is that every year will be the last. But I will keep up the tradition for as many years as she agrees to it. ...
