Recently I was asked if I would like to try out Monsters new Superstar Speakers.
And I thought about it….
But I’m not very techy…but I do love music…but I’m not very techy…
However, in the end my love of music won over my non gadgetness and sooner than later I received my Monster Superstar Speakers in the mail.
And although I was excited to get them…and even though I listen to music everyday…the box just sat there on my shelf waiting to be opened.
Because, like I said I’m not very techy. In fact, I’m miserable with anything even remotely related to technology! And I pretty much resist change and anything new.
For example, last week I finally had my brother show me how to buy and download my first song ever from iTunes…true story…my first ever purchase from iTunes was last week! I am pretty old school…I LOVE my CDs and have them all sorted by genre and in alphabetical order on their own set of shelves…because I really do love my music…and I’m resistant to change….
But then that one iTunes purchase opened the flood gates…
And now with all my new music combined with the music from my CD’s stored on my computer….I knew it was time to break out the speakers. It was just myself and the kids at home…no husband…or brothers…or sister…or dad…or Elizabeth to call on for tech support so I wasn’t sure if I could make the speakers work at all but I figured it was worth a try. (Especially with 3 more freshly downloaded songs to listen to!)
So, I opened the box and found the speakers, a carrying case, a plug, and some instructions…
I was happy to see the plug. Plugs I understand!
The plug, of course, is to attach your speakers to your computer…which I did and it totally worked!!!!
But then I read in the instructions that you can sync the speakers to devices like your smart phone using Blue Tooth and even though I’ve never done anything like this before I decided to give it a whirl.
And seriously within two minutes I was listening to the play list from my phone through the Monster Superstar Speakers!
YAHOO!!!!!
And I was so impressed with myself that I made my 11 year old (Simon) come check out what I had done …and he was impressed. Although he really shouldn’t have been. The instructions were so simple and the speakers are so easy to use…that well…even I could do it! It was so EASY!!!!
So now with my phone and speakers synced I take my speakers everywhere so I can listen to all my new (and old) play lists.
It’s like I’m in junior high again making “mix tapes” and listening to them everywhere I go.
While I’m doing my work I can just plug my speakers into the computer but then….when I am outside….
…I just bring my phone and we are good to go.
And of course they come with me into the sewing room and the kitchen and really everywhere. I’m totally in love…with a gadget…that involves technology. Who knew?
Now the speakers can do other things along with your smart phone…like you can receive calls through the speakers…but I haven’t tried that yet 🙂 because for right now I am thoroughly enjoying using them as my own personal music factory and I’m not going to give that up any time soon. The sound is great, the size is perfect, and it syncs up to my playlists! It’s all good.
I’m so glad that I tried something new!
Thank you Monster, this is one techno gadget that is a new must for me!

PS: For the purpose of full disclosure Monster did send both Elizabeth and I a speaker in exchange for writing a review about the product. We were not however compensated in any other way and the opinions I wrote above are all my own. The speaker, is cool for real, and I also really do appreciate getting the opportunity to review it. So there you have it…the full disclosure 🙂

Ok these are super cool! I’ve been wanting some way to have music in the sewing room – I love that you can connect this with bluetooth. That is so smart. Thanks!!

I finally bought a bluetooth speaker this summer too, on sale. They’ve come in handy while sewing in the living room, staining furniture in the shop and even laying out on the dock at the lake. So worth it!
