Aside from sewing projects, some of my favorite gifts to give are fast and easy homemade recipes. Some of my favorites include cinnamon rolls (I need to share that recipe someday–it’s a good never-fail one), homemades jams and my all-time favorite thing in the world–anything lemon. So, homemade lemon curd is always a great gift in my book for those that I know that love lemon too.
I bought the jelly jars at IKEA and then made some super cute labels with the Heidi Swapp Minc Machine (which by the way is on sale HERE for the best price I have ever seen!–affiliate link—). I used simple labels and ran them through the minc machine with gold foil and then wrote on them. Add a cute card that is also minc’ed and the gift is done!
The lemon curd recipe I use is from Martha Stewart and you can find it HERE. I actually thought for years that curds were difficult to make until I made one the first time….they aren’t at all. They are simple and they always turn out scrumptiously delicious. All this recipe requires is fresh lemons, sugar, egg yolks and butter…and cooks up in minutes. I like to eat it in tiny lemon tart shells (you can buy them in the frozen food section and they bake up quick) and this curd is delicious with scones or crepes!
And the best part is the curd will last up to a week in the fridge so you can give one and keep one jar for yourself too 😉
Any other curd recipes you love? I’d love to try a new one…
