Today we wanted to show you how How to Assemble A TeePee. In the pattern it tells you where to buy the 6′ long poles or you are welcome to cut your own to the length.
It is a much easier job with 2 people so grab a friend and you will have it set up and lashed in under about 15 minutes. And once it is lashed tightly I just close the bottom poles on it to put it away and the top stays together perfectly.
Step 1: Slide all four of the poles through the outside casings of the teepee and then bring all four of them together at the top. Wait to tie the bias tape at the bottom until the top is together. As best as you can, pull out the bottom four poles to create a square.

Step 2: Tie a piece of yarn (or rope or whatever you choose) around one of the poles like shown below.
Step 3: After you have a secure knot start with two poles and make a figure 8 loop around the two poles a number of times. Once you feel like the first two poles are tight move on to the next to to tighten them up. Have one person holding all four poles together tightly so you get a good tight grip on the top of the playhouse.
Step 4: Continue wrapping tightly the lashings around each of the four poles until your teepee is held together and those four poles stay in place tightly.
Step 5: Spread out the four teepee poles as far as they will go to make a square base for the teepee. Once you have that done, you can tie the bias tape to the legs and you are done with how to assemble a teepee.
