Every Friday night we have a pizza, treat and movie night with our family. It’s one of those traditions that I don’t know how much longer it will last as they grow up and become teenagers…so for right now I am holding onto it for as long as I can. We usually order out pizza (but sometimes do homemade) and then a treat. I am all for easy treats for movie night and these cookies fit that bill. They are gooey and chocolately inside and you can add anything you want into them–I usually add chocolate chips, nuts, or some leftover candy from the pantry.
These cookies were the basic recipe with 2 reese’s peanut butter cups added in. (I wished I’d had more than 2 because it wasn’t quite enough, but it was all I had and they were still super yummy.)
Double Chocolate Cookie recipe:
1 c. butter
2 c. sugar
1/2 c. Hershey’s cocoa powder
2 t. vanilla
2 eggs
1 t. baking soda
pinch of salt
2 c. flour (high altitude add 2 T. more)
Cream the butter and sugar, then add eggs, vanilla. Sift together cocoa powder, salt, soda and flour and stir into the wet ingredients. Then add your chocolate chips or candies, or whatever you have. Bake for 8 mins at 350 degrees. Cool on a wire rack.
Enjoy!!!
