I don’t really do a whole lot of decorating for the 4th of July (it sneaks up on me) but we needed a project one Saturday afternoon so I taught the kids how to make these oragami 4th of July Paper Stars.
4th of July Paper Stars Tutorial
Materials:
*Two 12″ by 12″ pieces of scrapbook cardstock for each star
*Glue (I like to use rubber cement)
*Paper clips to hold the star together while the glue is drying
Take a 12″ by 12″ piece of scrapbook cardstock (one sided papers work just great) and fold it in half on each side—into 4 squares.
On each line you just folded, mark 3 inches up and put a pencil dot.
Then fold papers at a diagonal on each corner like the image above.
Now cut each line up to your pencil mark.
Fold each corner into a triangle shape to form the star points. Glue and hold in place with a large paper clip. Repeat for all four corners.
Repeat all steps for the second star.
And you are done!
P.S. Here is a pinnable image if you need one.
