Both liZ and I have been fans of the Accuquilt products for awhile. They are simple to use and make fabric cutting a cinch and even my kids have gotten into the Go! Baby Accuquilt cutter that we received a couple of years ago. I have used it often for sewing and felt projects (I love this flower project for May Day) and we have also used it for many a school project too. So when Accuquilt asked us if we’d like to be involved in their new GO! Big Blog Hop—I jumped at the chance, because I really do love their products. Their newest cutter is GO! Big Electric Fabric Cutter, which if you can’t guess by the title is completely ELECTRIC! You push a button and it cuts your fabric for you. My 9 year old described it as “magic.”
I chose the large churndash block for my next quilting project because I love churndash quilt blocks…but also because they are a pretty complicated quilt block to cut out. But I had the whole quilt block cut out, sewn together AND straight-line quilted in an hour. Super time saver!
I did the pillow in Andover Fabric’s Downton Abbey line…and I love the pale blues, neutrals and grays. It is a fantastic line!
And take a look at this baby quilt that is a FREE pattern at Accuquilt. I am in LOVE. I put it on my list for my next quilting project because the colors, the style, the white space are everything that I adore in quilts.
I can just see it in boy colors too! And with the bigger sized blocks I am thinking it will be a very fast sew….yippee!
Do you have any quilting projects on the horizon? I would love to hear about them…

I love the look of that churn dash quilt. My son’s 1st grade teacher is having a baby this spring and I thought it would be cute to make her a quilt using blocks with her students’ drawings. Do you have any experience working with inkjet fabric? It seems like the best route for getting kids’ drawings onto fabric but I’ve never used it before…

I actually just did a quilt with that fabric this weekend! It worked so well…the only thing that I haven’t tried is washing it. The inkjet fabric says to “dry clean” the quilt…but I want to try washing it…..
It printed really well through the printer though, I am definitely doing it again!

Elizabeth,
Great! I would definitely prefer to wash than dry clean, myself! Can you recommend a brand or a source for the inkjet fabric? Thanks!

I just bought the 8.5 x 11 inch sherts at Joanns! They are near the quilting rulers 😉
