Today I am “bringing home” a tutorial that I shared over on The Ribbon Retreat’s blog awhile back.
It’s a tutorial for two different Frozen inspired headbands and some ruffled Frozen inspired skirts.
Both of my girls LOVE Frozen and would dress as princesses everyday if I would let them so recently we’ve been making quite a few “inspired by” outfits for them to wear to school and these easy to make headbands added the perfect touch to finish off their Anna and Elsa inspired attire.
I’ll show you how to make them. They are super easy and super cute.
Let’s start with “Elsa’s”:
#1. The first thing you will need is a base. I use small trivets from the Dollar Store but if you can’t find those you can cover a piece of cardboard with batting and fabric. (I did something similar to that with a Birdcage Fascinator that the instructions are for HERE if you want more details.)
#2. You will need some tulle. (This is a roll of Ivory tulle that I ordered from TRR and love it.)
#3. Now you are going to take that tulle and bunch it around the top of your base gluing it down in the center.
#4. Next I couldn’t decide which flower I liked best so I hot glued two of them right to the top middle of my base. (Right on top of my tulle.)
#5. Then I added a little bling button that I also ordered from TRR. (They have got some really fun bling!) I just hot glued it to one of the petals of my front flower.
#6. And finally I hot glued the entire base onto a headband.
And it’s ready to wear!
With your Elsa inspired outfit of course…
Now as for the Anna inspired headband….it’s even easier than the Elsa inspired!
Here’s what to do:
#1. Start with the same base.
#2. Hot glue 3 of TRR’s super soft flowers to the top center.
#3. Add one of TRR’s pearlized jewels to the center of each flower with a dab of hot glue.
#4. Now hot glue the entire thing onto a headband of your choice.
And you are ready to be Princess Anna for the day!
Thank you to The Ribbon Retreat for inviting us over here today!
(And really…their flowers are well, worth melting for….they really are fabulous!)
