Last night we had our family Christmas party up at Elizabeth’s house. She was super nice and made all of the kids darling pajamas.
I on the other hand was not so nice and made all of my husbands siblings (and their spouses) ugly pillow cases. And they were HO-HO-HO-rrendous!
I know ugly Christmas sweaters are all the rage right now but I can’t knit everyone a sweater! However what I could do was search through my fabric stash, choose fabrics that I can’t figure out why I even have, pair them terribly, and then turn them into ugly Christmas pillowcases. Which is exactly what I did.
And I’m glad I did it. Because #1. It was random and funny. (Although I’m sure I thought it was a lot funnier than his siblings did.) and #2 It used up a lot of fabric from my stash that I would have never used other wise!
My only regret is that I didn’t add trim….I have some trim that would have been awesome to add to those pillowcases….
Oh well, there’s always, next year!

PS: If you have some fabric that is just asking to be made up into some pillowcases for quick gifts this year you can use this 5 MINUTE PILLOWCASE TUTORIAL. Its the same one I’ve used a million times and it always works. (To make darling or ugly pillowcases…the choice is yours!)

How could you? I have this sort of disgusted look on my face while reading. I am cringing at some of the prints. I am thankful you had no ribbon on hand! Hey, if anything it is unique and I would expect nothing less. 😉 I would love to hear if this is the most interesting gift you have done for the family. What is the topper of all gifts??

Ha! That’s hilarious. I love it. I always think my jokes are way funnier than other people do too. Oh well.

That’s great! Had I been there I’d have loved it just as much as you!
