I needed some easy teacher’s gifts for the Holidays this year…and have kind of made it a tradition to do a handmade gift and then a gift card for school supplies. So when the Jo-Ann’s #MakeItGiveIt campaign came along, I knew it would be the perfect match. I wandered through the store and found some amazing cream premium wool felt and knew it would make the perfect pillows for my kids’ teachers. And since pillows are easy….it was a perfect afternoon project!
Here is what you will need if you want to make some easy felt Christmas pillows too!
Materials:
1/2 yard of duck cloth, 1/2 yard of wool felt, white pom poms, 1 bag stuffing
Step 1: Cut two pieces of canvas 12 inches by 24 inches. Cut out your felt shapes and add to the pillow top.
Step 2: Stitch down felt and add your pom poms (optional)
Step 3: Add second pillow piece over the top of finished pillow cover and stitch around the perimeter, leaving a 2 inch opening to turn right sides out.
Step 4: Turn pillow right sides out (remember to cut a triangle off the corners) and stuff. Hand-stitch up opening and you are done!
I did a second one with holly leaves and pom pom holly berries and I love it too! I am hoping the teachers will like them just as much 😉
Be sure to head over to Jo-Ann’s Share site and link up your own #MakeItGiveIt project and be entered to win a $100 gift card! All the details can be found HERE….
A special thanks to Jo-Ann for the gift card to buy these supplies and have fun making some easy pillows!

Elizabeth, I was looking up Christmas Pillows and saw these! So pretty! I am a very inexperienced “sewer”” (person who sews very little!) and I have a question that I’m sure will make people laugh but really don’t know….when you say ‘remember to cut off a triangle on the corners before turning right side up’ , can you show a picture of that or explain what you mean in a little more detail? Like I said, I am very inexperienced!
Thank you very much!
Beth

P.S. I almost forgot! How do you attach your pompon’ so they won’t fall off? I would glue them but it seems they would not stay on that way.
Also! Did you free-hand draw the Christmas trees?
Thank you again!!
