Do you ever feel like you have a million balls juggling in the air? And while you aren’t dropping any of them (YET!) they still aren’t getting accomplished?
Well, that’s me lately with my sewing projects.
But I decided that instead of wallowing in the fact that not a lot of sewing projects are getting finished, photographed and blogged…let’s play the game…WHAT’S ON YOUR SEWING TABLE?
Here’s my answer to that.
One quilt top almost completed, 1 quilting project cut but not started sewing, 2 dresses that just need buttons, 3 baby quilts that I just picked up from the quilter that I need to bind (including the jelly roll baby quilt above), and 2 more sewing projects with fabric ready to go that need to be cut out.
So, now I am wondering, what is your list like?????
~Elizabeth
PS I am making a list of things to accomplish before starting new projects….starting with the buttons. I can do buttons today 😉

Two mermaid dolls for Christmas, one boys’ sunday outfit, and two girls’ sunday dresses (which, by now I need to remeasure and maybe cut out a different size because I’ve had the patterns assembled and cut out for months!), and I’m considering making undies for another Christmas present. True story… when my Grace was three, she looked at our Elf on the Shelf and said, “Jingle, my panties are too tight–tell Santa!” Ever since then, she ALWAYS gets underwear for Christmas… from just about everybody. This year, I’m broke, so it’s homemade all the way, and I have the materials and the pattern for undies for her and little sister Nikki.

I family member who’s favorite gift each year is underwear. It started as a joke and turned into a tradition that would be extremely missed. 🙂

Just yesterday I posted a picture to my FB book page saying ‘It’s starting to look like Christmas, everywhere I go”, and showed the piles of projects around my house. Side table in the living room has three doll bodies, arms and legs, to be stuffed and put together. Then there will be faces, hair, clothes and shoes to make for them. The dining room table had fabric and patterns set up to be cut (being sewn today). Under the ironing board there are two sets of pjs to be sewn. I also have the fabric stacked for 4 new skirts (Christmas gifts). I am actually going shopping today to get the fabric to make to new skirts to go with the two shirts (I have twins) because it came to me as I was cutting out the shirts, the perfect idea for skirts to match. I am sure there is more I am missing or I will add.

A Marco shirt, 1/2 finished
A blouse needing a button!
A which way out jacket.
A second Betty Skirt
A blouse to match the Betty Skirt
An Uptown/Downtown dress
All Unfinished! Sigh (Getting off the computer now…)

I have several things on my to do list, too.
On my table I have
1 pair of fleece pants for my boy
1 shirt for my boy
A pile of lycra intended to be gymnastics leotards
An almost cut out warmish jacket for me
Now to get some time to sew them this weekend!

That is so funny! And I think handmade are the best gifts 😉

I am so glad I am not the only one Audrey!
Elizabeth says

Jenny L says
1 quilt basted ready to be quilted
3 quilt tops/backings ready to be basted
1 quilt currently getting the binding hand sewn
1 sew-together bag almost completed
Fabric ready for another sew-together bag
Fabrics for 4 family stockings
Binding for one quilt currently at the quilters
That’s a lot!

I’m in the last 4 weeks of school before Christmas break, so I haven’t had any time to sew. I’m really looking forward to break so I can start working on Christmas gifts. Also on my list is a jacket and a dress for myself. Dresses for my little sister. I want to make something for my mom but I haven’t decided what yet.
~T~ says
I’ve almost finished a quilt top, except that I’m not sure about the last border. Since I put half of that border on, I’ve finished three other items (an outfit for me and a birthday present), and I’m ready to start two more (more clothes for me!). Now I’m getting more ideas for gifts…
Nky says
A bodice and a skirt lining for a dress that I’m supposed to wear to a wedding next week, and a beautiful brocade fabric that needs to be cut for my “Thanksgiving dress” that willnow (due to a lack of time) become my Christmas dress.
Amy Draughon says
Ha! I was thinking the same thing – so many projects started but not completed!
– dress that just needs to be hemmed
– skirt pieces that are cut, just need to bee sewn together
– plump top
– cozy pj’s
– 3 outfits to be photographed
– 2 tutorials to finish and publish
– 3 blog posts to revise and edit
Here’s to a productive weekend!

*One of my new years’ resolutions for 2014 was to learn to sew my own pants (for myself). I have FINALLY cut out a pair, but haven’t started sewing yet.
*Some winter hats and scarves to finish up for a Craft Hope project.
*New winter coat for my 4-year old. Too bad it’s already freezing cold.
*For Christmas gifts, I hope to finish a coordinating apron set for my sister-in-law and nephew and a new pair of PJs for my nephew.
*If there’s time (hahahahaha), a new black pencil skirt for me.
*****plus mending for daysssssssss******

AND all the projects I have done INSTEAD of actually working on what I should be. LOL

Stepper says
1 curious george throw that has a hole in it and a 3 year old begging me to mend it.
1 turtle neck that is coming apart at the seams, I need to mend.
fabric for 1 Barbie doll dress
and a lot of fabric scraps and notions from last week’s projects that need to be put away.
Stepper says
As I typed that I thought, that’s so easy I’ll just go knock those mending things out. But I also found a pair of jeans waiting to have a ruffle added to the bottom to get another few months of wear out of them, and a sun suit with all of the elastic needing to be replaced. Will I ever get to start Christmas sewing? We’re having pictures with Santa in two weeks. And I still haven’t even cut fabric for one of the five dresses or button up shirts I have to make. Oh yeah, and I have a 3 week old. Yep! It’s beginning to feel a lot like hectic Christmas.
