Recently we were sent this playful designs coloring books by our good friend Patty Young. We had the opportunity to meet Patty this summer twice, both times in St. Louis for Babylock Events and she is just delightful….between sewing patterns, designing fabric, and other design work, she is a busy, busy lady!
She has just come out with her new coloring book called “Playful Designs” and sent us a copy for our girlies. Hannie pulled it right out and started going to town. As we speak most of the pages have been already done and have been given to their new owners, but she loved every minute of it. I would say that she has spent hours coloring these designs like the one below…..

I’m sewing up dresses for my daughter and I to wear during our family portraits next weekend, and doing some pattern testing. 🙂
I will be wallpapering my mom’s bathroom this afternoon, making some string pieced blocks this evening, watching the Seahawk’s win tomorrow with my grandkids while I finish knitting thigh high stockings for my daughter. A perfect weekend!

I’m going to be spending time with the family 🙂 probably playing in the snow, cleaning bedrooms, doing laundry, and drinking hot cocoa.
A table runner is on my sewing table but today I’m visiting with my daughter.
I need to change the oil on my car, but I will probably skip that because of all the snow. And head to the sewing room to work on some Christmas dresses for little girls!

Today I’m helping my pregnant daughter get her home ready for 14family guests who are coming many, many miles to gather here in GA for Thanksgiving. That coloring book is fabulous and I know which 8 year old granddaughter would love it. She’s so creative!

Rode our Harley Davidson to thr Reagan Library. What a fun day. Lots of historical information. Several of Mrs. Reagans gowns on display. The tailoring, fabric manipulation, and details in at lot of them. Gives one a lot of ideas!
Having a sew-a-thon with my mother and daughter to finish a quilt top for a friend. Three ladies, two machines, one iron… looking good so far- it’s really coming together!
We have friends visiting for our baby girl’s 4th birthday!
I love to shop for my dolls, so I check out stores around town.
Nursing my almost 15 year old back to health (she has a sinus infection), sewing, and working (I clean houses)
I had a snow day with my kids. We stayed home, baked cookies, and listened to Christmas music. 🙂
Saturday… Sleep-in, stay in pjs, sew a couple ckc patterns, date night with hubby.
Sunday… Sleep-in, stay in pjs, finish up sewing, grocery store, clean, mom stuff.
Then get ready for Monday.
I am working on Christmas presents for our family. It is the first time since my husband retired from the military (24 years of service) that the whole family can get together and celebrate.
I will be working on a quilt today.
a black sweatshirt for my daughter I meant to have done by Halloween… when my sewing machine broke, I did as much as I could on her Janome mini, and stalled at the zipper… my machine is back, and so it’s waiting… hopefully today!

A little bit of sewing and a little bit of shopping. I am trying to finish up two Every Day Tops, for my youngest two in time for their Thanksgiving party/show this coming Friday. I think I will also start pulling recipes and planning for Thanksgiving dinner.
Sewing all weekend — working on Christmas gifts.
We just turned on our gas fireplace since it is snowing outside. So we are enjoying the view. Later I plan on doing a little sewing. I’m working on an outfit made of a spandex knit and it’s being difficult :).
we went to an auction yesterday an found some wonderful treasures! Watching a little football today and working on a binding for some placemats I made.

I made a petticoat for my daughter’s Christmas portrait dress, cleaned out the fridge, and invented a new soup for dinner – “random stuff from the freezer.” LOL.

I spent the weekend…. coloring!! My daughter was working on a Frozen coloring book all day on Sunday. I kept her company by coloring a few pages from a Sesame Street book… and wishing I had a more grown-up coloring book version!
We spent the weekend trying to get ready for winter — raking leaves, insulating doors, and using the blow dryer on plastic sheeting on the attic windows!
This past weekend, I cut quilt pieces like crazy…and we spent time at our son’s house. My Grangirlie & I loooove to color & do crafty things together!! Grrrreat book! Love it!! 🙂
