Ruth has grown out of most of the dresses that I’ve made for her so recently I cut out a bunch of new ones for her to wear through the fall and winter….but then I also made her this one….
It’s perfectly impractical in every way for our autumn temperatures.
(And it’s totally Cindy Brady.)
But it is so perfect for those chubby legs and arms that I couldn’t resist!
The dress is from a 1960’s Simplicity pattern and made with Penny Rose fabrics.
And even though I’m in love…I will start sewing her up the more practical, long sleeved, flannel, and wool dresses that I cut out as well….

Every once in a while, a girl needs an “impractical” dress. And this one is so sweet!

Sigh. I was just thinking the same thing, seeing those cute legs under the short hem. Such a cute dress. And only so few years in which a girl can pull it the look. Hurrah for you for grabbing the opportunity to!

I LOVE impractical sewing. Sometimes it has to be done.
