All week I’ve been talking about skirts…and how I can’t stop myself from making them and today isn’t going to be any different.
Awhile back I saw this awesome Waverly Lotus Lake Porcelain Fabric on Online Fabric Stores Instagram feed and they were asking the question, “What would you make with this fabric?”
And I of course said, “Pencil Skirt! Pencil Skirt!”
So imagine my delight when a package with this freaking awesome fabric came in the mail. (I think I cut out the skirt that very afternoon….using the method Elizabeth shared in her Pencil Skirt Tutorial.)
Now I realize that it is “Designer Drapery Fabric” but….I LOVE LOVE LOVE using those fabrics for skirts.
In fact, we are going to be painting our family room over Thanksgiving break and I’ve been browsing (ok pouring over) Online Fabric Store’s pages of Designer Drapery Fabric looking for fabric for new curtains…and I think I have it narrowed down to 3 choices…and when I order it I’m going to order a little extra to make myself a skirt from it as well.
Is it wrong to have a skirt that matches your curtains? Maybe. But if it’s wrong I don’t want to be right. And I’m totally going to do it.
And while I am at it I might need to order a few yards of their Robert Kaufman jersey knit…because I can always use more of my knit pencil skirts as well! 🙂
Happy Friday Everyone and Thank you Online Fabric Store for letting me make a super fun skirt from one of your great fabric choices! (I can’t wait to wear this one during the summer with T-shirts and flip flops!)

I’m pretty sure having outfits that match your curtains makes you one of the cast of the sound of music…. SO THAT MEANS IT’S AWESOME

Which is one of my all time favorite movies and books!!!! Which probably explains my persuasion to be sewing clothing from curtain fabric….

Love this skirt! If drapery is good enough for the Von Trapp family it’s good enough for the rest of us, right?

Is this another way to ‘drape’ fabric for sewing? Hahaha. I truly love the skirt.
