I love this time of year when everyone is thinking about others…especially what they can give to others…
But sometimes I think we make giving too hard. Or over think it too much. Or believe it has to be a grand gesture…or cost a lot…or be extravagant…or only be given to those in desperate need or to close friends or family…
And it just doesn’t have to be that way.
It can be as easy as just making two.
For instance:
If you are making a batch of cookies…double it. Then take the extras to a neighbor.
OR
If you are making some salsa…double the recipe. Then take the second jar to share with your co-workers at lunch time.
OR
If you are making your daughter a hair bow…make two. Then let her give one to a friend.
And the list could go on and on…if you are already making one, why not make two? Who wouldn’t love a warm loaf of bread, a crocheted dish cloth, or homemade pillowcase? If you have the extra supplies and are already doing the work why not brighten someone else’s day while you are at it?
The world could use some more kindness.
And it doesn’t have to be just at this time of year…this is something we can do at anytime…for anyone…without a terrible amount of effort.
So one of these days, if you remember, just make two. Someone will thank you for it.

This is a fantastic post! I usually ending up baking on Sunday afternoon, to get ahead for breakfast and lunch treats for the week. I’ve been packing up some of whatever was on the baking plan and bringing it with me to Sunday evening church. There’s always someone who seems like they could use a loaf of banana bread or homemade granola, and it’s so fun to be able to say, “I have a little something for you…”

Thanks so much for this inspiration. Looking forward to “making two” this weekend. I tend to feel the need to go over board, but the Lord used you to speak to my heart this evening.

Just wanted to tell you that I made stuffed peppers for dinner, and I made 3 extra peppers for my neighbors that are dealing with a health issue in their family. Thanks for the reminder to “Make 2.”
