After a very busy September I am hoping to slow things down in the month of October and enjoy the season. So with that in mind here are the three things that I am planning on doing over the weekend:
#1. Adding to my “Forgotten Places” Pinterest Board.
I have to admit that I am not a big Pinterester…but I love my Pinterest “Forgotten Places” board. In real life I totally want to be able to go explore abandoned buildings, homes, amusement parks, castles, etc. But until I am able to go to these places in person I will settle for exploring them and collecting their images on my board.
It’s so random but we totally have more images in this board than in any of our other boards (there are over 700) and if you want to check it out here’s the link: Forgotten Places.
But I’m warning you right now….you’ll get sucked in…even my husband did the other night for an hour…just looking at all the eerily beautiful, creepy, and interesting photographs. (And if you do check it out look at the amusement parks and some of the underwater things…they are some of my favorites…well those and all the houses….)
#2. Finish reading “Murder on the Orient Express” and then start reading “Bunnicula”.
Yep. That’s right, I said “Bunnicula” Simon read it awhile back and decided, since I read “Halloween” books every year during the month of October, that I HAVE to read that book this month…because I’m going to LOVE it. (And how could I not….it’s about a vampire bunny and the story is written with a dog for a narrator…that alone is scary enough to give me nightmares….)
#3. Watch E.T. with my kids for campout night.
They have never seen E.T. and for some reason my mind equates E.T. with Halloween so tonight we will be eating popcorn and phoning home. (And I am going to try to think of a few other old school Halloweenish movies to watch with my kids…I know there are a few that I am just not thinking of…..)
So that is that.
My big “Halloweenesque” plans for the weekend.
They aren’t grand plans…but they sound pretty great to me.
Have a spooky weekend everyone!

Have you watched “Wait Until Dark” with Audrey Hepburn? Definitely a classic Halloween thriller.

I loooove that board! I tend to scroll quickly through my Pinterest page looking for yummy treats or fun crafts or something new to sew, but those images make me pause. I try to imagine what they looked like before and wonder if anyone imagined the demise they would suffer. I also desperately want to rehab few or at least salvage some of the beautiful, handcrafted elements! Can’t wait to see what you share!

I loved the Bunnicula books as a kid! I remember my second grade teacher bringing in a parsnip and telling us bunnicula got into her garden!

I love Bunnicula! I used to read it to my brother when he was a kid. He’s 35 years old now, so I guess it’s time to pull it off the shelf for my 6 year old.

You probably equate E.T. with Halloween because that’s when they take E.T. to phone home!
