I know that the Nightmare Before Christmas isn’t everyone’s favorite thing….
But I love it.
I don’t know if it’s the story or the animation or my inner Goth speaking but I just love it….really…I even have a Jack Skellington wallet in my purse…and a sticker on my mini van. Am I too old for such things? Yes. But does that stop me? Apparently not.
Which brings me to this year’s Halloween decorations:
Last week end Grace and I made a pile of these and hung them in the tree next to our front door. They were super easy, super fun, and super inexpensive to make.
We started out with Christmas tree ornaments from the Dollar Store.
They came in sets of 15 for only $1.
Next we purchased a can of 97 cent spray paint from Wal-Mart and sprayed them all white.
Then when the paint dried we drew Jack faces on all of them with a Sharpie.
And it was so fun that we went back to the Dollar Store that very same day to buy more ornaments. This time we spray painted them orange…
…and drew faces from a lot of the different characters from The Nightmare Before Christmas all over them.
When we were finished we tied them to our tree with ribbon from the Dollar Store.
All in all our project cost less than $6 to make and is was so much fun….I want to make some more!!! Really…I do…
And I like them so much that I might just leave them up all year like I did with this project:
Ok…maybe not…I need to be normal…which means that I swear this year after Halloween is over I will finally take down my Haunted Mansion Wall…although now everyone is so used to it that they don’t even think twice about the cross stitched “Tomb Sweet Tomb” hanging up in the family room…but I will take it down…at the end of the month…until next year…
