This last Spring, we did a project for Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores for their Fall Lookbook. For it, they gave us four themes and we brainstormed and sewed four projects up that fit those themes, which we love! (We really do still love sewing for themes 😉
For the Halloween Chic theme, we decided on some old-school Halloween Costume Collars that could be made with simple collar pattern….so the lion, the clown and the ballerina costumes were born! And we really do love them….they were so fun to do. We wanted all the collars to be kid friendly, so not only are they easy to make–they are easy pull off so as to not be a choking hazard–so even toddlers can wear them.
Little Ruthie as a lion is one of the cutest things I have ever seen….and the collar was so fluffy and soft that even she loved it 😉
Here is the collar turned into a tutu for an ever-loved Ballerina costume.
Add some pom poms and ric rac and a party hat, and the collar becomes the perfect clown.

Love, love, LOVE these costumes! Do you have full pictures of the lion and ballerina costume? Did you make everything for the lion costume for matching purposes or did you buy the rest of the costume?
Magaly says
