liZ can attest that I am always on a mission to perfect my favorite cookie–the sugar cookie. I do have a sour cream sugar cookie recipe that I love, but I was looking for another easy sugar cookie recipe that is fast and you donn’t have to roll out and use cookie cutters.
Hence, this recipe. You basically make them like a peanut butter cookie….roll them into a ball and squish them with a glass dipped in sugar. And because they are made that way—they are a fast bake. And they are super delicious, maybe even better than those other pink frosted sugar cookies out there on the market 😉
Sugar Cookie Recipe:
1 1/2 cups butter softened
2 cups sugar
4 eggs
1 t. vanilla
5 cups of flour
2 t. baking powder
1 t salt
Cream butter and sugar together. Add the eggs, vanilla. Mix. Stir together the flour, baking powder and salt and then add to the other ingredients. Scoop onto cookie sheet with cookie scoop. Place 1-2 T sugar into a bowl. Place cup into sugar and smash down with glass and sugar like peanut butter cookies. Bake at 375 degrees for 7-9 minutes.
