Last week I was under a huge deadline….and kept myself on strict “lists and plans in my brain” to get everything done. It is not usually so stressful around here, but it was a particularly busy and crazy week.
I was talking to my youngest one morning and telling him, “I can’t remember what the last thing I was supposed to do this morning. I know there were 5 things…..” and I went down the list. Number 1, check. Number 2, check. Number 3, check. Number 4, check. But no number 5….
I COULD NOT remember the 5th thing on my list.
My youngest finally turns to me with the biggest smile.
“Mom I know what that last thing was!”
“What was it buddy?”
And then he excitedly said….
“NUMBER 5 WAS PLAY WITH ME!!!!”
“Yes, Isaac that is exactly what it was. It was play with you…..”
And then we played cars and trains with tracks and tunnels that kept falling over because moms sometimes aren’t the best tunnel makers.
I almost missed what was really important on my to do list. I think sometimes as a mom I get so caught up in the “get it done” mode that I forget….and I am eternally grateful that I have a 4 year old around here to help me remember what my most important things are.

This is so sweet! Such a lovely reminder and such a lovely way to be reminded! #5 on any list of yours should now forever be “Play with me” :o)

Kids are often the best reminders of where our heads really need to be.0, aren’t they? xoxo
