Back to School Gifts…and a $100 Target giveaway!

This time of year makes me miss teaching. I loved my years as a First Grade teacher. The fresh classrooms, the new pencils and seeing all of the kids with their new backpacks and new shoes and unused erasers — I really do get a bit nostalgic for the new beginning of a school year. And now that I am on the other side of the coin, sending my kiddos off to new classrooms I always reminisce about my teaching days. Yes, they were hard. But they were also some of my most rewarding experiences in life. I do so love teaching and teachers!

And as for a back to school gift? Well, when I was teaching, one of my favorite gifts to receive was cleaning supplies. I know for most moms it’s not the most fun gift to give–but believe you me–teachers love cleaning supplies. Clean classrooms are happier classrooms (well at least in my book ;). It also meant less money that I had to spend on cleaning supplies for the classroom and more money I could spend on the FUN projects at school. So for back to school every year, I like to keep things pretty simple for teacher gifts.

This year it is up&up disinfectant wipes from Target and a box of tissues with a small check for a classroom donation. (Oh, how our teachers need a few extra dollars for supplies…..they really do spend so much money out of their pockets.) When I taught, I used these disinfectant wipes for desk cleaning…and boy, did we go through a lot. But our desks were always sparkly after a wipe down and the stray pencil marks and germs were gone! So, it really is my number one gift when it comes to teachers.

Another one of my classroom must-haves was disinfectant spray. It was perfect for spraying in the garbage cans as well as surfaces that could get really germy. This one smells really good too 😉
