Today I get to share a simple stretch denim dress.
I got to make it as a part of the Shaffer Sister’s “sew-a-bration of Womanhood” series.
It’s a month long series in May that encourages women to take the time to sew for themselves. (You should head over there and check it out….so many great ladies and lovely projects.)
The project I chose to make for myself is actually the exact same pattern I sewed for myself for the Ugly Duckly Pattern Challenge we held last month. But this time I used a stretch denim instead of a knit to sew up my pattern with.
I am loving that “ugly pattern” now that I have made just a few changes and I thought in a dark denim I would get a lot of wear out of this dress. (And just for the record I swear I really did finish the sleeves….but I made them 3 quarter length…and then that bugged me…so I rolled them up and will probably always wear the dress like this…since I do that to all my sleeves anyways….)
The more I sew for myself the more I enjoy it. And I’m glad the Shaffer Sisters invited me over to their neck of the woods today…it gave me an excuse to sew up another dress for myself that I’ve really been wanting to make!
Have a great Monday everyone!

PS—I got this chunk of denim for $1!!!! $1!!!! That means that the dress plus the fabric cost me $1.50. And I’m thinking that is pretty awesome. (I nerd out over stuff like this.)

I wouldn’t have thought to make that silhouette in stretch denim, but it’s so chic!

I love that dress, it is perfect with the neon belt. The whole outfit looks trendy while staying classic. And you totally can’t beat a $1.50 price tag. Thank you for participating.
