Zipper pouches are one of my absolute go-to’s for a handmade gift. I think I love them most because they are simple (don’t be afraid of the zipper part….they are easy!) and I can whip one up in an afternoon which is a quick success when it comes to sewing projects. I have created a short tutorial to show you how I make my easy quilted zipper pouches and I hope that you will try one. (And then you might get addicted too 😉 )
I made this one for a quick gift this last week. I added in some fun sewing/crafting supplies and a gift card for some Sonic Drinks to add a bit of fun to the present and I am hoping that she liked it.
The quilted zipper pouch tutorial is broken up into two parts: the quilt-as-you-go method and then making the actual zipper pouch itself.
Here is the tutorial for the quilt-as-you-go part.
And here is the tutorial for the zipper pouch.

PS I have wall-papering a wall in my house on the brain. Has anyone done it themselves? Hire it out? What is your two cents….pretty please!

I watched my mother do quite a bit of wallpapering. It reminds me of matching the patterns (stripes, etc…) when sewing. That seemed to be the hardest part. I have attempted removing wallpaper. Not fun.

Amazing quilting on that middle panel!

Thank you Courtney and Mary for the advice!

I am in the process of wallpapering my mom’s small bathroom, horrible. Wallpapering one flat wall without cabinets, etc. is much easier.

These are very cute! I have some quilted fabric I’d like to use! I see in the pictures that there is bias tape at each end of the zipper but don’t see any mention of this step in the directions. I am just missing it somehow?

My zipper wasn’t quite long enough so I added a piece of fabric at each end to make it longer….hope that helps!
