*This post is sponsored by Wayfair. We were compensated for this post, but all opinions, like always are our own.
Recently we were asked if we would like to participate in a “Pop of Color” campaign….to which we said YES!!!! (A thousand times yes!) And I didn’t even have to think for a second about what I wanted to do….
Here’s the confession.
We have NEVER bought anything new for ourselves for our bedroom…15 years of marriage and we still live like college students. I’m not kidding. And to make matters worse our bedroom has been like a giant catch all….no place to plug in the printer? Let’s put it in the bedroom! Random chair? In the bedroom! Stuff for a yard sale? Laundry that needs to be folded? Unfinished projects? Bedroom! Bedroom! Bedroom!
It hasn’t been pretty and I knew this would be a chance to start new, clean out, grow up, etc. The challenge was to add a pop of color to a room…but before I added a color I decided to take everything away and start with a clean, bright white slate.
THEN it was time for the pop of color and that is where Wayfair came in….I knew I wanted some wall art and there were so many choices. But when I ran across this wall art I knew that it was perfect for our bedroom.
In fact, this artwork has been the inspiration for the entire new design of our bedroom but I can’t tell you anymore about it right now. I really wish I could but I can’t!
You see, Elizabeth and I have a little mini competition going on between ourselves that has begun behind the scenes….another “Liz Off”. (But this one won’t involve gold MC Hammer pants or velvet meggings.)
This installation of the “Liz Off” will involve Elizabeth and I redoing 3 rooms in our homes and then having you vote on which make over was the best. We are really excited! But the fun doesn’t start until next month. So today I can only give you a sneak peek of my inspiration:
And promise you that this next session of the Liz Off is going to be a lot of fun.
Have a perfect Wednesday everyone!

Yes, I hear you on the bedroom. We haven’t used it as storage (unless you count the mammoth closet filled with donations, old papers, and some extra stuff–which was recently cleaned out–alot) but it has never really looked finished. It is ALWAYS the last room to be decorated, no? SO…after 19 years of marriage we finally purchased a real bedframe. Like headboard, footboard, even siderails that I tuck my pretty linen diamond quilted coverlet into. The beautiful coverlet that my husband said “is that a matress pad on the bed?” I had a vision for the room and it is coming along. I have a reading chair, a big desk (husband refuses to use it for work on the weekends), and even some pictures up. I have a few more items to work on and it will be complete. 🙂

That was all my husbands idea…but I really like it!

No! I got it for Christmas but have been saving it until we have a “real” bedroom.

That will be awesome for you to have it finished!!! And yes….I do think it is always the last room to be decorated…you have to do your living space and the kids rooms and whatever else and your room always comes last.
But maybe that will make us appreciate it more when we finally have a lovely space of our own ! 🙂
