I have been making a few quilts lately. This one was a gift…..for a friend who loves all things bright colors! It made me branch out a bit more than I normally do with colors….but I think I need to do that more often because although the fabrics are not usually something I would put together I do I love how bright, cheery and fun it looks!
I just did a simple strip quilt with a piece of main fabric down one-third of it. And I do love strip quilts…because they are fast! I did the whole quilt top in an afternoon even with cutting all the strips. The finished quilt is approximately 60 by 70 which I think is the perfect cuddle size.
I tend to let Melissa quilt things with whatever she wants these days and she did a square/rectangle pattern that I love! She really is awesome….
The backing is a Riley Blake print and the binding was their aqua polka dot that matched.

I love it! The vertical stripe makes it all come together and it’s fabulous!

I love this quilt and I like the way you quilted it. It looks very simple but elegant. I would like to see a tutorial on machine quilting. Thanks for all you do.

That is a beautiful and smilesome quilt. Wubby asked me to make her a quilt and I’ve been trying to gather both the courage and the patience to attempt it. The beautiful quilts you’ve posted lately are nudging me there.

DO you machine quilt them yourself or send them out? I am looking for a place to send quilts because my standard sized sewing machine can’t handle anything bigger than a crib quilt.

Do you have a pattern for this quilt? It looks really fun. Thank you
