Here are the facts:
*In January Elizabeth and I attended ALT.
*One of the sponsors at ALT was Shark vacuums…and I got obsessed with their Rocket vacuum and steamer. (To the point that I was vacuuming the floors, rugs, couches, my pants, whatever all over the hotel instead of going to class with Elizabeth…and then was so loud with all my vacuuming they had to shut the doors to the classrooms to keep all my noise out. True Story.)
*Then one of the Shark ladies told me that I could enter a contest to win one…(anything to get me to quit vacuuming)…so I did and guess what…I won!!! (Which is a miracle because I’m not that girl who always ends up winning.)
*So….I got one of these in the mail…and I use it ALL THE TIME.
*I really do use it all the time…at least once a day…and I really do love it. In fact, I emailed Elizabeth after the first time I used it to tell her about it. (I know, it’s a vacuum…but it really is that cool.)
*It has all these great features that are literally a cinch to use. It takes T minus two seconds to turn it from an upright to this little mini stair vacuum that is FABULOUS. (And then you can make it even smaller and turn it into a wicked hand held vacuum of awesomeness that is really cool too!)
(Note: That isn’t me in the photo above…I totally stole that picture from Shark’s website.)
*Even my husband was using it and vacuuming under all the furniture and appliances. (I wasn’t kidding when I said it was cool.)
*So during all this vacuum love I went to go visit my grandma. And…I took my vacuum to vacuum her place with….and I started vacuuming but then my dad wanted to give it a whirl (I’m not kidding) and then my grandma wanted to try it out as well and before I left that night both my parents and my grandparents homes had been given the once over by my new toy, er…I mean vacuum.
*Then next night my grandma calls…and she tells me that she had seen an add for my Shark Rocket on TV…and that she totally bought one! And it is going to come with the Steamer (which is also fantastic) and that she is getting it shipped right to her house. ( I told her that she could just share mine but she wanted her own at her house…and I don’t argue with my grandma!)
*And that is the story of why my grandma is getting a Shark in the mail. (I love my grandma…I wish you knew her…)

*Shark did not pay us to write this post. I did win the vacuum and the steamer…and Elizabeth had previously purchased a steamer and was given a vacuum when I got mine. But we really do like the vacuums (and the steamers). So that is that…and now you know.

I had the absolute worst vacuum FOR FIVE YEARS! Why?!?!?! I would vacuum the floor then take the vacuum apart clean out all the clogs and put it back together. Lather, rinse, repeat EVERY SINGLE TIME I HAD TO VACUUM!!!. Finally threw a hissy fit, printed off a BBB coupon and bought myself the Shark Navigator. Love it! because it sucks. 🙂 Will never, ever go back to anything but a Shark.
Normally I would have donated the still “working” vacuum to a charity shop. However, I was fully convinced that if someone bought it they would find out where I lived and firebomb our house for the “thoughtful” donation. So I made my husband wrap it tightly in a trash bag and bury it at the bottom of our trash cart so no one would seek revenge on us. 🙂

Kristi:
The vacuum we were using before we got this one was TERRIBLE to!! I would be standing there washing the parts out and thinking…”Seriously??? I have to wash my vacuum????”
AND there was a short in the plug so we would have to plug it in and then prop the cord up with a chair so it would stay on…
That thing went into the recycle bin…maybe it can come back as a nicer appliance in it’s next life!

PS—Glad you like your Shark…we do to!

Love it! I’m hoping our lame vacuum will hold out until we move.

I LOVE A GOOD VACCUUM!
That one looks like so much fun.
Really, when you vaccuum every day (did you know that about me? Can you say a tad OCD??)
like me, you get to appreciate the tool. So much.
That is awesome. I love that you won it!
I love even more that your Grandma ordered one for herself. Go Grandma!
