Today we are sharing a few things that are going on behind the scenes this month here at Simple Simon and Company:
#1. Setting Up A Craft Room:
I’ve been working on changing my preschool room into a craft room…it’s been a long coming…over a year in fact. But because I posted about it here: “Just over a year ago I shut the door….” (and because it makes me cry) I won’t retell the story. But I will say. #1. Thank you for all the sweet comments….I mean to respond to them, when I’m not crying so much. #2. The room is coming along nicely…nothing fancy…nothing new but it’s going to be a space I will love…and I’ll share the pictures soon.
#2. #aprojectaday
I’ve been feeling a bit of the winter blues so to fight them I came up with something to cheer me up. I’m calling it my #aprojectaday project. Here’s what it is: I’m doing one simple (less than 10 minute time commitment) project a day that will help to cheer me once it’s been done (and what I might not have done other wise).
So far some of my projects include cleaning out my junky coat pockets and then washing my coat, cleaning out the mini van while waiting to pick up the kids from school, sweeping all the ice melt off the front porch and steps, getting rid of all the scraggily houseplants that are drooping around the house, etc….I’m not saying it’s life changing…but driving around in a clean van in my delightful smelling coat has helped to cheer me up. So I plan to continue this little project for a good long while.
#3. Art Classes
My community art classes have started again now that the holidays are over….and I’m having a lot of fun with them…today we are doing a project inspired by Fauvism!
#4. Moving Day
Elizabeth is packing, packing, and packing…her family will be moving very soon and she is one busy lady. (Just the thoughts of moving are overwhelming to me!)
#5. Something exciting
This week we will get to announce something exciting on the blog…something we’ve been working on behind the scenes on for months now! And we are really excited about it…so stay tuned for that!
***Ok, I know I am leaving like 50 things out….but at least I had a few things to share that are going on behind the blog….

so fun! hope your feeling a little better:) cannot wait to see the craft room!!

Your 10 minute project could be a commitment to yourself of 10 full minutes of doing nothing but just enjoying a pleasant sound with your eyes closed and body relaxed. Just putting myself in time out can help me come back focused on what needs to be accomplished and in a better frame of mind. Good luck with ridding yourself of the winter blues, spring will be here soon.
