Like as to many other things (such as …Facebook…Instagram…and Google +) we are arriving to another party fashionably late…this one is called Pinterest.
We know, we know, we know…it’s like the worlds biggest online party and we’ve chosen to stay home in our pajamas and read a good book. Not that there is anything wrong with that…I love staying home with a good book…but a month ago we took peek into the party and were hooked.
So for the past month Elizabeth and I have been creating a set of boards that we are excited to work on, curate, and use for inspiration over here at Simple Simon and Company. Together we have created over 30 boards full of images, tutorials, and ideas that we love. (Absolutely love.)
Some of my favorite boards include the vintage dresses, period clothing, and of course my forgotten places board. While Elizabeth loves the vintage patterns, sewing spaces, and notions boards.
And it’s not just the boards that we are so excited about (even though we are so excited to continue building them)…it’s what we plan to do with them. We love the idea of using Pinterest for pure inspiration…not to just copy or duplicate others work but as a spring board to spark ideas for new projects.
Next week we will share the first of a year long project that we are about to begin using this kind of inspiration.
I hope you’ll join us.

I know, talking about interest doesn’t do it justice. It’s a huge tool to build your own reference library for inspiration and resources. Have fun, and I’m going to check out what you’ve found so far!

Wow, only one month? You all have 10 times (literally) as many pins as I do! Impressive… I’m looking forward to seeing what you make from all the inspiration. =)

Oh dear! If you’ve only just discovered Pinterest you’ve definitely been missing out. I’m so addicted it keeps me up at night. Will definitely be following you, I imagine you’ll have a Pin or two that I’m going to need or be inspired by.
Happy Pinning!

Love your boards, especially the vintage girl’s patterns! I have an infant layette pattern, circa 1950, that was my grandmother’s, that I treasure. I used it to sew a dress and slip for my granddaughter. It made me feel close to my gramma, as she was the one who taught me to sew.
