With Valentines approaching I start to think about what gifts I can give to loved ones that they will not only like but will let them know how much I love them.
So over the next few days I want to share some gifts that I both have given and received that are inexpensive, handmade, personal, and heartfelt. (And that you could personalize and give to your loved ones this Valentine’s season.)
The first gift that I want to share is one that I received for Christmas this year from my sister in law Stacy. (And I love it!)
Anyone who knows me knows that (among other things) I love soda, salsa, and my music…my strange, beloved collection of music…where Neil Diamond is king. And so for Christmas Stacy put together for me an entire Neil Diamond themed gift:
And I love it!!!
Here’s what it included:
*An I love ND sticker for my mini van (a.k.a. “The Neil Mobile”)
*A CD with that includes all my favorite Neil Diamond songs
*And these:
It’s an entire recipe file full of Neil Diamond Songs and corresponding recipes!
Like:
*”Forever in Blue Jeans” with a recipe for Chicken Pockets
*”Song Sung Blue” with a recipe for Blue Cheese Dip
*”Love on the Rocks” with a recipe for a Mojito Mocktail
SO fun! So personal. And, I just love it. It was by far one of my favorite gifts from Christmas.
Now…I understand that not everyone shares my love for Neil (what’s wrong with you people?) but a gift like this could easily be changed and personalized for anyone who loves a certain musician or band. Find them a great new CD, a bumper sticker, a DVD, an iTunes card, etc. and then add in the recipes!
For example, what if they like The Beatles (and who doesn’t?) what about the Octopus’s Garden with a recipe for shrimp scampi, Back in the USSR with a recipe for Hot Borscht, and Strawberry Fields with a Strawberry Cheesecake recipe?
Or maybe they are into Elvis and you could do You Ain’t Nothin’ but a Hound Dog with a great hot dog relish recipe (if there is such a thing)….Or if they like The Carpenters you could do We’ve Only Just Begun with a great appetizer recipe…Or, well I could do this all day but you get the picture.
I love stuff like this…and I think whoever is on you list might to. (And if you need help matching songs to lyrics…leave a comment…I’m not kidding when I said I could do this all day….)

PS: Thanks again Stacy for all the Diamond goodness!

What a fantastic gift! BTW: I love Neil too…and Elvis (and of course the Beatles).
It might also be fun to actually make themed meals to go with the cd, if the person lives with you.
My kids would flip over this!

We’re going to a Neil Diamond’s Birthday Party Happy Hour and are to bring a Nei Diamond song themed appetizer. Any suggestions?
