    My favorite tool is my leather coin tip thimble. After almost 20 years (gasp) it is broken in just right. I bought it right after I graduated high school…because I was that girl.

    Favorite sewing tool… Well aside from my sewing machine (if I had to sew clothes & such by hand I wouldn’t sew… Don’t have the patience for that!) would be my iron. I use it constantly when sewing.

    I think I love the table-top ironing blanket that my husband got me for Christmas. I had a make-shift ironing station set up near my sewing machine because otherwise I had to keep going to a completely different room to press as I sew. (I think he might have been more worried about the finish on the small table I was using, but it was a sweet and thoughtful gift nevertheless.)

    My seam-ripper is my most used tool however!

    My favorite sewing tool hmmm? Probably my new seam ripper. I don’t know if my old one was just cheap and crappy or maybe just dull but my new one cuts through threads like butter. It makes so much easier to admit my mistakes and go back to fix them 🙂

    I LOVE my 40 year old Bernina AND my Ginghers. How did I sew for 20+ years with crummy scissors? I don’t know…..my family knows that those scissors are not to be touched by them. Ever.     I made myself a nice, tall cutting table from a recycled door and little bookshelves, and that’s my favorite thing right now. I topped it with a giant cutting mat and it is perfect for laying out patterns.

    Gotta say my tiny scissors. I use them all the time. Great for fixing little frayed edges, cutting hanging threads, and getting in tight spots.

    Seam ripper. But the other favorite is some small scissors that are on a ribbon that hang around my neck. So easy to clip the little strings as I go instead of pretending I will do it after I get the project done.

    I can’t even tell you how badly I want an actual real dress form since I started sewing. I’ve gone from trying to drape things on myself (disaster) to the duct tape dress form (bigger disaster), so winning this give away would be worth it just for that. 🙂 Or I can try again at getting one for my birthday.

    I can truly say I wish I had known about needle nose bent point tweezers when I started. And painter’s tape. Both are SEW useful for anything that has to do with sewing or crafting! I’d love these great “goodies”….thanks for the chance to win!

    My favorite sewing tool is my sewing table that my husband made. It is oak and has a cabinet with drawers and the door holds thread, my sewing machine sits down in it so everything is flush with the top, it has a fold down extension so I can have a desk or table and it is on wheels so I can move it.

    Well, besides my Viking Designer Ruby, my favorite sewing tool is my Kai scissors. They are so sharp, comfortable and perfect for cutting fabric. I have 3 pair in 3 sizes!

    I love my sewing machine. She and I don’t always get along, but I couldn’t do nearly as much without her. Lately I’m also loving my heavy duty pinking shears and scissors. They were an impulse purchase from Ikea but they work great!

    My favorite tool is actually 2 that were my great grandmother’s. Her bamboo point turner and her 6″ wooden hand embroidery hoop. She was petite like me so they both fit my small hand wonderfully, also I love the smooth feel of the wood after being used all these years.

His magnetic bolt bowl works perfectly for holding pins and needles and when you drop them on the floor, the large magnet is great at finding them 🙂 The bonus is that they are only $4 instead of $10+ for the “pretty” ones made specifically for sewing!!

    My favourite tool would have to be my rotary cutter. It makes cuts so much more crisp than I could ever manage with scissors, and without having to mark my fabric. I could not imagine cutting strips without it!

    My favourite sewing tool has to be my overlocker (serger for those from the US) I use it loads and got it incredibly cheaply from my husband’s grandmother when she was clearing out her craft room. A bargain at £50. She also gave me free run on her fabric stash and I literally walked away with hundreds of pounds worth of fabric! Amazing.

    I also love my seam gauge and find it unexpectedly useful in a lot of projects.

    Since I am new to sewing, my favorite tool is the manual to my sewing machine. I use it to remind myself how to wind the bobbin and thread the machine if it has been too long between projects.

    I love all my tools but my “eureka!” moment in sewing came when I read on a blog that the “little ruler” that comes standard in every sewing kit was a SEAM GAUGE! I had no idea- duh! It changed sewing forever for me.

    My favorite sewing tool is definitely my measuring tape…for the longest time I was trying to measure everything with a ruler and if I had to measure a waist (or something like that) out came some yarn and the ruler. I found a measuring tape hiding in a little box and it has become my best friend…

    Oops, I don’t even know what they are called, but I LOVE the new red plastic clips to use in place of pins. They are so easy to use when piecing quilts!

    My favorite thing is my small sharp scissors hanging around my neck on a lanyard so they are always handy to clip threads. I use my small rotary cutter to undo my seams instead of a seam ripper. Sewing is my sanity because when you sew you have to use your whole mind and forget everything else. It is your small get away. I am caring for my 66 year old husband who has 4th stage cancer and my 82 year old mom so if I can steal a few minutes to sew, it’s for my mini vacations!! I am beginning slowly to teach my granddaughter who is 5 to sew now. We must pass it on!

    As I love to sew up cloth dolls and doll clothes, I treasure my little purple pen that I use for lighty marking doll’s faces and a number of tasks in sewing up the bodies and clothes. What is fabulous is that the ink disappears with out a trace Susan

    Rotary cutter, mat, bias binding maker, gingham shear, seam ripper,invisible marker are very helpful in sewing 🙂

    I sure seem to USE my seam ripper a lot…but I don’t know if they would make it my favorite. I do really like my Gingher scissors though. They’re light weight and can be used for precise little snips quite well.

    It’s hard to pick a favorite sewing tool … There are so many that I rely on. My tailors ham – I never had such well pressed seams until I got a ham!
