Did you have a wonderful Christmas holiday? My goal this year was to fill it with family, friends and faith….and except for a few bumps in the road {like the sickies} I think it was overall a wonderful success. We hope yours was too.
And although we are taking the next couple of days off to be filled with things like hot cocoa, sledding and game-playing….we do have some thrilling and exciting things planned for 2014.
We are going to start it off with a bang and host a “What I wish I knew when I started Sewing Series” that will hopefully answer some burning sewing questions….and help those of you who got a new sewing machine for Christmas to get familiar with apparel sewing! It should be fun and we have been working on a big giveaway for you that will accompany it….so stayed tuned.
Also, in early 2014 we are going to be launching our first pattern (AHHHHH!!!! It’s still a scary thought) and some great video tutorials to go along with it. We are starting off with “The Basic Bodice Pattern” in girls sizes 2-12 and we will be teaching you how to take a basic bodice pattern and use it as a jump-off point to draft and create so many dresses of your own. That series will launch February 1st and we are so excited for it. We have been hard at work for almost six months on that project so we are excited to see it finally coming to life.
We also are working on a few other things that we will share soon…..but we really just wanted to come and thank all of you for such a wonderful 2013. When we started this blog so many years ago, we never ever would have realized all the wonderfulness that could come from it.
And it is all because of you all…..so thank you for so much kindness. It really means a lot.

I’ve been in bed for two days in a row. (Stupid bronchitis) I crawled out of bed and the first place I came was here. So super excited about the pattern release. Can’t wait. 🙂

Oh, I so feel for you….I had it the weekend before Christmas and it was miserable. I still am sounding like a man and have the cough of all coughs….so I am hoping you feel better soon! It’s no fun to be sick during the holidays…..

Oh, ladies, it sounds wonderful and exciting! Can’t wait to see what you’ve planned with both the sewing series and the pattern. Always a fan of drafting-from-basic-blocks, so I’m thrilled! This is going to be groundbreaking. Whoo! Happy new year, you both, and thank you for writing your beautiful and inspiring blog and sharing your lives here. It is a breath of fresh air in Blogland!
