Awhile back Stacy from Boy, Oh Boy, Oh Boy Crafts invited us to be a part of her “Scandinavian Style” Sewing Series.
“Sure!” we said.
“Love to!” we said.
“Sign us up!” we said.
And then, the time came for us to sew up our Scandinavian Style look….and that’s about the time we realized that we had no idea what we were doing.
(We live in the Rocky Mountains and are about as American as apple pie!!! What do we know about Scandinavian Style????)
So what do two girls living in the Rocky Mountains do when they need some Scandinavian inspiration?
Why, they head to IKEA of course!
Of course.
So after a quick trip to IKEA, a few phone calls, and some nachos (which sadly have nothing to do with Scandinavian style) this is what we came up with:
We were going for simple, colorful, and comfortable.
How’d we do?
To see check out the entire series head on over to Stacy’s blog and see all the fantastic designs!
See you over there!

Thanks Trine…..aside from where I spelled Scandinavian wrong in the title….sheesh. (Corrected now!) Coming from you….it means a lot!!!

Whenever I visited Sweden, the children are usually dressed in mix-matched outfits but your outfit is a great combination of simplicity and beauty….and the elements coordinate.

Thanks Joy!

I want this outfit, preferably with nachos.

It is so cold and rain/snowy here today….I just want the hot nachos!

Haha. I’ve been watching the series and thinking I know nothing about Scandinavian style fashion and I was impressed that you did too, but now I know you were just as out of it (without proper research) as I was.
IKEA, love it. Have you ever got their chocolate? It seriously can’t be beat. My favorite is milk chocolate hazelnut or else dark chocolate. If they had a dark chocolate hazelnut then that would be my favorite. If you haven’t tried it, make sure you do next time (it’s by the checkout line).
Also I think this look is awesome. The bright pop is perfect with your black and white floral dress. Way to knock it out of the park.
With Love,
Al @ Shaffer Sisters

That dress! Love it, and it’s adorable paired with the bright tights, cardigan, and scarf. =)

Especially your choice of fabric is perfect. The dress is almost “mussel-painted” (royal copenhagen’s signature pattern). I am glad I found your blog, I will hang around here from the Scandinavian part of the world 🙂
