I came across this quote recently and loved it. It’s been on my mind for a couple of weeks and I am glad for Miss Ann Lander’s wisdom.
And I have needed it in the last little while…
Like the day that one of my littles came home from school crying because “so and so” was mean to them….I re-iterated Ann’s thought. That we may not like the way that everyone treats us, but we can show what kind of person we are by the way we treat them, even if it’s hard to do.
And I have even talked to my husband about it….especially the day that I was the one that came home upset because someone had said something I perceived was rude. I was all flustered by the situation and what had happened and why it had happened and was going on and on.
And he re-iterated the same sentiment to me….and I needed it.
I want my goal to be to “truly measure” up, which may be a life-long process, but I hope to start working on it a little at a time.

When everything starts to seem like a chore and I find myself feeling frustrated and unhappy, I love this scripture: “This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118:24. Reminds me to stop, enjoy the little moments and not let the drama take over. 😉 I found it on a beautiful wall plaque that now hangs in my bedroom.

We often sing this psalm during Mass. I will find myself humming it when I’m having a really good day and turning to it when I have a less than wonderful one.

Ran across this quote by Albert Einstein…on a notebook in Target of all places, but it was just what I needed to remind myself that my kids need time for more than just “book” learning, “Logic will get you from A-Z, but imagination will get you everywhere.”
