Today I”m posting a project that was fun to make but I think would also be fun to give or receive:
A matching sewing apron and sewing machine cover!
I made the apron using the same basic idea and instructions that I used back when I made my first sewing apron:
This new sewing apron is also made from a purchased apron.
But this time I selected one that is white canvas, embellished it with Waverly fabric, and then I added my favorite part:
The upside down measuring tape!
I LOVE IT!
It is so convenient while you are sitting there sewing to have a built in measuring tape laying right there across your lap and facing you. I use it all the time!
As for the sewing machine cover I used the same Waverly fabric for the bulk of the cover and then added some white canvass down the right side to coordinate with the white canvass from the apron.
To make the cover I used the same process that I did here in my Sewing Machine Cover Tutorial:
But instead of exposing the seams like I had done in my original tutorial, this time I enclosed them to give it a cleaner look.
Recently my sewing has been focused on creating garments and it was fun to take a time out and sew something different.
September is National Sewing Month and to celebrate Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores and Waverly are celebrating it with a challenge and because it”s also Waverly”s 90th anniversary the prizes are AMAZING! Like $1,000 in Waverly fabric and a $250 gift card to Jo-Ann”s amazing!
So…to get all the details about how you can enter head on over HERE and read all about it.
And enter!
Really…I”d enter if I could…that is an amazing prize!
