Are you sewing along with Project Sewn this month? We are doing a sew along of the free pattern, The Coffee Date Dress.
I finished mine late yesterday (ok except for the hem—I ran out of navy blue thread—but I promise to finish it up today!)
The dress itself is made of navy blue weaver’s cloth, which I love because it is so lightweight but looks like linen to me. It was in my stash and I thought it would make the perfect summer dress.
I didn’t line it but used blue bias tape to finish the neckline and the sleeves and did some french seaming on the inside so everything is tucked neatly away.
The plan is to finish the hem with a tiny rolled hem….and the back has an invisible zipper.
You still have time to link up a dress if you want to!!! I promise it’s a fast sew…

Oh I love yours!
So very classy. Linen blend fabric is dreamy and perfect for this dress!

So pretty! Love the navy. How was the sizing on the pattern? Did you have to make many adjustments?

Oh my gosh! I meant to sew along and totally spaced! What a doof! What’s the deadline? By the way, yours is lovely! Very classic!

Nicole, I did make some adjustments to the pattern from own measurements bodice block. I did a FB adjustment and added a high bust dart (in addition to the one that is already in the pattern.) I did take in the waist a bit on the size I was supposed to be, but I think that is about it.

i am almost finished – have to put in a zipper and finish the hem and that’s it 🙂

You have until Friday night…so there is still time!

I was very close to just skipping this sew along…but then I saw your dress. I picked out my fabric tonight, printed out the pattern, and sewed up my bodice! Thanks for the motivation and inspiration!
