My only little girlie was baptized a couple of weeks ago…..and it was such a good day.
My neighbor and friend Alexia took these pictures of her a week or so before in her white dress. She thought the whole thing was very exciting because it meant she got to have her own photoshoot with someone other than her mom. We even put on a little bit of blush and mascara and hurried out one evening to catch the “golden hour” sun and the pictures turned out so beautifully.
For the dress, I used the same bodice pattern that I drafted for this summer dress back here with added front and back darts. The fabric was a sheer white swiss dot (although you can’t tell in these far-away shots) that I lined with a white cotton lining underneath. The middle was a white satin ribbon accompanied with a super full skirt underneath for twirling and dancing.
Can I tell you how much I love this girlie?….She is growing up so fast it makes me almost weepy.
I told her the other day that I need for her to stop growing so fast.
Her reply was a quick giggle with, “I wish I knew how to…because I would.”
Some days I just wish I could freeze time. Just for a few years…..

P.S. I normally don’t do big parties for birthdays (HERE is a normal one for me) but I did do a bit more to make her day a little more special. I will show you her family luncheon party on Wednesday.
