A Few of Our Favorite Things Birthday Giveaway

Our friend Kimbo is having a birthday today and to celebrate she’s invited us (and some other lovely ladies) to a party of sorts…a favorite things happy birthday giveaway party.
Soooo….today we’re giving away a few of our favorite things to one of you!
(Yes….we should be giving our little package to Kimbo, but she’s cool like that and wants to share the wealth.)
If you want to enter to win a few of our favorite things (all vintage items…no surprise there, coming from us) all you have to do is leave a comment telling us….um…let’s see….I know…. Leave us a comment telling us what your favorite movie is that was made before the year 2000.  (That makes the movie kind of vintage right???  Or at least retro.)
And I’ll tell you what my favorite one is…on Saturday…with a little project I’ve been working on….

    West Side Story…I love everything about it! The clothes, the singing, the dancing, and the heartbreaking story. And the lessons on racism and judgement are still (sadly) relevant today.

    1989 “Steel Magnolias”. I watch every time it is aired and I also have a movie of my own to watch anytime. So many things are so right on. My husbands is “Outlaw Josey Wales”. I don’t mind him watching that one over and over, because he never complains when I watch “Steel Magnolias”. 🙂

    I absolutely love the film Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. But there are so many great classic movies and films I like! In fact I think I’ve only seen about 5 films in the theatres since 2000. I mostly stay home and watch old movies!

    So many to choose from…..one of my many favs though is Lady Jane. It was one of Helena Bonham Carter’s very first roles. History, love, intrigue, drama, all rolled into one.

    My all time favorite movie is Christmas Vacation! It’s a holiday tradition in my family to watch it on Thanksgiving. Gets us all in the mood for the holiday and we start the season laughing! Even the littles crack up!

    That’s so difficult, love so many movies for different moods… Loved Dirty Dancing, Sound of Music and Mary Poppins. But I think Baby Boom is my favourite 🙂

    Gosh, I love old movies SO MUCH, so I have lots of faves. Here’s one you may not have ever seen or heard of, “Topper”. There were a few (maybe three?) Cary Grant was in it as a young man! About a young carefree couple who becomes ghosts and a friendly with a nervous older gentleman. My husband and I were talking that we think they should do a remake with Ann Hathoway and James Franco! It would be great!

    Ok, favorite movie. Do you remember Mannequin? Yeah. Totally love that one. Reminds me of my youth (haha). I also really loved Robin Hood Prince of Thieves (the Bryan Adams song gets me every time. Sigh.).

    Oh, favorite vintage movie is definitely “The Man in the Moon.” It wasn’t a big release, but it’s one of my favorites of all time! If you haven’t seen it, you MUST check it out!

    I’ve seen so many listed above that I love (Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and The Goonies for example), but the first one that came to mind when I read the question was Back to the Beach, with Frankie Avalon and Annette Funicello. Thanks!

    Thanks for the giveaway. Hands down my favorite movie of all time is GREASE – who is celebrating is 35 year anniversary this year! I can’t watch it without singing all the way through and I even quote most the lines too. LOVE IT!!!

    I know it was supposed to be favorite movie. But I have never been much of a tv or movie watcher….Very rarely were we allowed to indulge in this growing up and so it just hasn;t ever been soemthing I have really cared for. But candy is a different story.

    How on earth can I choose a favorite movie? It totally depends on the mood that I am in. Favorites include Somewhere in Time (Christopher Reeve was so stinkin’ dreamy), Tommy Boy (stupid- yes, funny – absolutely), Sword in the Stone, The Fugitive. See…it varies from day to day!

    most of my favorite movies are old movies. Slipper and the Rose, Seven brides for Seven Brothers, Rogers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella etc… and I love The Princess Bride.

    I love Grease!!! I watched it as a kid ALL.THE.TIME. I am surprised that my parents let me watch it, but it all went over my head for years.
