Today we are over at the Moda Bake Shop sharing how to make Gracie’s Love Bunny Skirt.
(She’s wearing it in this photo although you can’t see it very well. But, you can head over THERE to check it out.)
And while we are over there sharing the skirt we are over here sharing the pattern and instructions on how to make her matching love bunny doll.
To make this love bunny you’ll need to print out the pattern which you can find HERE.
Once you have that printed cut out 2 of the bodies (one for the front and one for the back) as well as 4 arms and 4 legs (a front and a back for each arm and leg).
Next stitch each arm (2 pieces for each arm) wrong sides together.
(Start sewing at the skinny flat end of the arm and sew around the entire piece ending on the other side of the flat skinny end. Leave that skinny end open so you can insert your stuffing.)Repeat the same process for each leg.

When you are finished flip each arm and leg right sides out.
Now stuff your arms and legs. I just used some PolyFill and with the help of a chopstick filled them nice and firm.
Now choose one of the 2 bunny outlines you cut out to be the front of your bunny and using black embroidery floss make two French knots for eyes.
Next tack on your arms and legs to the very edge of the right side of your bunny front. Then fold his appendages into the middle like in the photo below.
Now you are going to pin the back side of the bunny to the front side of the bunny. When you do this right sides will be together and his arms and legs will be tucked inside the little bunny sandwich.
After you have you bunny all pinned sew around the entire bunny, using a scant 1/4 inch seam allowance, and leaving an opening down his side large enough for you to flip him right sides out.
Flip your bunny right sides out.
Using a pom pom and a needle and thread tack his fluffy bunny tail onto his backside.
Now fill his ears, head, and body with Polyfill. ( I use the chopstick to help push in the Polyfill and smooth it out nicely….especially in the ears!)
Using your needle and thread stitch closed the opening you used to flip your bunny.
And your finished!
Now you can add bows, and scarves, and whatever else your heart desires.

I see that others are having trouble downloading the bunny doll pattern. I finally. Asked my son and he says there is nothing there. All the page says is “Love Bunny Pattern” I have to tell you how much I love your site and projects. I’m excited to get back to sewing and quilting again. Thank you both!
