Last week I posted about meal planning. And in that post I said I have a list of meals that we regularly rotate through (kind of like our go-to meals that everyone eats and likes) hanging on my fridge that I use to look through when I’m planning out our weekly dinner menu.
I said in that post that I’d bet if you sat down and listed the meals you make regularly you’d come out with about 25. I got lots of emails and comments about this. Some of you had quite a few more than 25 and others of you wondered what meals were on my list.
So this morning I just counted and there are actually 36 meals on the list on my fridge.
And since you were wondering, here are out top 25 most commonly served meals here at home:
#1. Taco Salad
#2. Irish Stew
#3. Bean burritos and Enchiladas
#4. Corn Chowder
#5. Lasagna
#6. Creamy Chicken Tortilla Soup
#7. Chicken and Dumplings
#8. Asian Tomato Beef
#9. Chinese Chicken Salad
#10. Pasta Salad and Baked Potatoes
#11. Chicken Chili
#12. Chicken and Rice
#13. Baked Spaghetti
#14. Homemade Spaghetti and Garlic Bread
#15. BBQ Chicken and baked potatoes
#16. Tin Foil Dinners (we make these all the time and cook them in the oven—it’s the kids FAVORITE meal)
#17. Taco Soup with Tamales
#18. Southwestern Chicken and Rice
#19. Stir Fry
#20. Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup
#21. Homemade Vegetable Beef Stew
#22. Cajun Fish and Baked Potatoes
#23. Caribbean Pork
#24. Corn and Green Chili Chowder with Grilled Cheese Sandwiches
#25. Vegetarian Chili on Rice
SO…that’s the list…well, part of it…its the meals we eat the most of anyways.
What’s not on my list that is on yours?
Any easy/good meals that I am missing out on?

PS—I said that I would share a new thing I was trying with our family at meal times—and I will, next week! 🙂

those all sound wonderful…yum! after your post last weekend i got to work creating my own meal plan. it is almost done. i actually wrote down all of our favorite meals as well. i had about 50 or so. then i typed them up on the computer and then printed them off onto address labels. that way i can peel off our meals and stick them onto my weekly menu sheets. i had to make it as easy as possible for myself. sitting down and writing our meals for the week is the hardest part for me. hopefully this with help me stick with it:)

Ooh those sound good. I’m stuck in a rut rotation between porcupine meatballs (http://afewthingsemilymade.blogspot.com/2011/03/porcupine-meatballs.html), spaghetti with “homemade” sauce (italian sausage, garlic, basil, parsley, crushed tomatoes), sausage rice (http://afewthingsemilymade.blogspot.com/2011/04/sausage-rice.html), easiest salsa chicken with cilantro lime rice (http://afewthingsemilymade.blogspot.com/2011/04/salsa-chicken.html), homemade pizza (http://afewthingsemilymade.blogspot.com/2011/05/best-pizza-weve-ever-had.html), spicy spaghetti (http://afewthingsemilymade.blogspot.com/2011/05/spicy-spaghetti.html), pancakes (http://replicatethendeviate.blogspot.com/2011/12/best-buttermilk-pancakes.html), cinnamon rolls (http://replicatethendeviate.blogspot.com/2012/06/oops-i-did-it-again.html), and fried rice.

Yum! I have to admit at being terribly ill prepared at meal planning lately. You have some good sounding ideas here!
