The first look is one of two dresses that I put into the collection. This particular one is Hannie’s favorite. It is an A-line dress make out of winter white gabardine that is fully lined. The front lace is from a vintage table runner that I have had in my stash awhile, waiting for the right dress and it finally found a home.
I drafted the pattern for the dress but I do have an alternative in paper pattern form if you are looking for a similar look. You will need to make the sides a bit more A-line (easy to do…just draw out from the underarm seams to more of a triangular shape) but THIS pattern will work well. (I have used that pattern before and love it…it fits great for the measurements on the envelope.)
The dress is paired with charcoal gray tights (Target for around $3 if I remember right) and some hot pink shoes (also Target, on clearance for $7) and some hot pink felt hydrangeas in her hair.
And since I can’t draft a pattern for each of your girlies (I wish there would be a way we could just all pattern-draft together, wouldn’t that be so fun?) I thought the least I could do was give you a quick tutorial for the hydrangea hair flowers.
I found the clover/hydrangea pattern here.
I put 6 of them together for her hair piece (although they were each on their own clip so I could use them again later in a smaller bunch).
See you tomorrow…

gosh i love white! that is such a sweet dress! look forward to seeing the rest:)
So classic and beautiful. And your daughter, gorgeous.
You’ve got a little model on your hands here! Your daughter is stunning, as is your first look! I’m looking forward to seeing more of your collection. I’ve only recently started sewing and I can’t tell you enough how much you inspire me to keep at it despite the frustrations of being a beginner
Oh I love this. Such clean lines, and tasteful details.
love this dress. it is so versatile and that lace running down the front is just gorgeous!
beautiful
I am just smitten by the lace running down the front! What a clever idea. She is so beautiful!
Absolutely gorgeous Elizabeth! That detail down the front is stunning. I love it when people take a simple pattern and really turn it into something special, just like you have done here. So pretty!
Classic and beautiful!! Love the pictures and the full lining. I have that pattern in my stash and I didn’t love how it turned out but I might try it again with something heavier.
so cute!!
how is the back done…zipper, keyhole, etc. It looks beautiful!
