So as I mentioned a little while ago I’ve been into making my own iron on patches.
I don’t have any of those nifty machines that you just send an image over to and it cuts out some stuff.
(In all honesty I don’t even know how they work and haven’t ever seen one.)
I’ve just been making them the old fashioned way…draw a picture, trace it onto fabric, iron Heat-and-Bond onto the fabric, peel, stick, iron onto the desired location, and sew around the edges.
Done.
And I love them so much that the other day I decided to put together a whole tutorial on how to make these little lovelies. I even took pictures…
(This is the photo from the sew around the edges step.)
But then I started to make fun of myself….
Do I really need to put together a tutorial for how to make iron on patches?
No. No I don’t.
So I didn’t.
But I will tell you this:
They are really fun to make.
I love to draw so I don’t ever get tired of sketching out something that I can readily translate into fabric. Plus Heat-and Bond is relatively inexpensive (less than $5) and the fabric I’m ironing it onto is from my scrap bin which makes this new addiction cost friendly.

I made a bunch of these exact same patches that Elizabeth and I appliqued onto skirts and also sold as individual patches at the craft fair last month. But Grace didn’t get one…and I had a little piece of this cute Riley Blake polka dot fabric that I’ve been saving along with a left over patch…so
Now Gracie is ready for her close up Mr. Demille.
Have a good weekend everyone…I hope you all get to do something fabulous…or at least feel fabulous!
