So I guess this post is as close as I’ll ever come to a “What I Wore Wednesday”…
I bought this shirt over the summer when Elizabeth and I made our day trip over to the LA Fashion district. I kind of love it but haven’t had a reason to wear it until last week when I went to see Wicked.
I hadn’t ever seen Wicked (I know…I’m behind the times) but it was really great. I loved the story, the set, and the costumes…dude…I LOVED the costumes. They had this great steam punk/ 80’s vibe…and now my head is going a mile a minute thinking of all the things I want to make not only for Grace but for me….
Yes…I did say for me…after I finish with Gracie’s autumn attire (which I am dying to finish up and share) I think I may attempt a few more items for myself…
But for now it’s back to the “sweatshops” as Elizabeth mentioned yesterday…I only have 2 more days to sew and so many items still to finish before the mother of all craft fairs begins! Ack! Wish me luck!

PS—Every time I see Steam Punk items I’m intrigued…is that weird? Are any of you out there like that or am I just crazy? Wait…maybe you shouldn’t answer that….

I think steam punk is really cool, not really me but really cool all the same.

I love Steampunk and wicked and California–Great Post! 🙂
I made me a steampunk tie tack from an old pocket watch movement and wear it a lot. I am fascinated by the intricacy in the detail (from the jewels in the movement to the brushed metal casings) and am amazed how all those gears and springs work together to tell time. I love it when I run across an old movement at a thrift store and open up the case and seeing all that handiwork inside.

Ah what a perfect blouse! I have yet to see Wicked, so you’re more with the times than I am. 🙂
