So you may have noticed that last week we didn’t stick to our “regularly scheduled program”. Alright, maybe you didn’t notice that we have a regularly scheduled program…but we do…and every week it’s always the same.
Monday-Wednesday: Sewing, crafts, tutorials, whatever…
Thursday: Thifted Thursdays—awesome thrifted finds or things we’ve made from thrifted items
Friday: $5 Friday—projects you can make for $5 or less
Saturday: The Art of Homemaking posts
Sunday: This is our day of rest…no posting
But this week and next week we’ve been breaking the rules and for a very good reason.
We are getting ready for Skirting the Issue.
Skirting the Issue will be going on for the entire month of July and is really important to us so we are taking care of all of our commitments right now so that July will be saved only for that event.
(Now I say “taking care of our commitments” like it’s something of a burden…as if posting things like pattern reviews and giveaways is hard…it’s not! We enjoy making new patterns, posting about fun things and doing giveaways. We just don’t usually do them all so close together.)
So starting right now The Art of Homemaking posts are officially on hold until August…
…but don’t abandon us…
This next week is going to be a lot of fun—we’ve got a fun summer tutorial, modern Dirty Dancing, giveaways, and some great books and patterns to share.
And then Skirting the Issue will begin and we sincerely hope that you will join us for that.
It should be something really great and I can’t wait for it to begin.

PS—Are there still Circle K’s out there somewhere or did they disappear around the same time Keanu Reeves did? (And if you have no idea what I’m talking that’s ok. Just, be excellent to each other and party on dudes!)

We have one in Douglasville, GA…. which is the closest small town to where I live! (which is in the middle of nowhere. My town has a fire station, school, and post office!)

There are still some Circle K’s out here (West) too.

The skirting issue sounds fun. We have a few foster kids in our church, so this is cool. Si I feel like I’m helping them out, even if it doesn’t go to them directly. We have a few here in San bernardino county, ca that I frequent. I love their 89 cent sodas. But I’m trying to limit my soda intake, so I’ve been drinking their green tea! Yum! I think it’s gold peak. Can’t remember.
