Yesterday Liz shared her darling Easter Dress (I am in serious love), and I am sharing Hannie’s today (which is kind of old news around these parts—I went with simple).
Her dress is made from a cotton-linen blend of fabric that was thrifted (a whole roll of 10 yards of lovely fabric for $5—-I am thinking it was originally meant for drapery lining). The dress is made from The Vintage Holiday Dress Tutorial. I forgot to put her crinoline under it for the picture—so you’ll have to picture it a bit puffier (and cuter).
We made a wrist cuff together a couple of weeks ago which I blogged about HERE….and I finished up her last accessory today. I spray painted a metal headband from Hobby Lobby the same robin’s egg blue as the sash and then made the “bird nest” to match the cuff. I was skeptical that I could spray paint the headband, but it totally worked very well with just one coat. I did spray one clear coat over the top to keep it from chipping. (YAY for spray paint….)
And for the boys, well they got some new bow ties.
It still remains to be seen if a certain 9 and a half will wear it….
The rest of their clothes (although Aaron just has a white shirt and tan slacks) came from sales at Gymboree.
One question:
Do you do matchy-matchy for Easter?
I know some people don’t love it…..but for Easter…..I totally do.
(I know I am weird. I just think it is so cute….and this may be the last year I can do it. Sniff. Sniff. SO…I am totally going with it.)

I also match for Easter and Christmas. I have four boys ranging from 15 to 3. They all wear white shirts and matching ties. I even buy a tie for my husband. My daughter who is 1, I made her a dress the color of the ties I bought this year, which happens to be a beautiful blue. I love your daughters dress. I love white dress on girls. So crisp and clean. Have a great Easter

Got to be matchy matchy for Christmas, Easter and weddings!! My girls are now nearly 7 and nearly 9 respectively and I too am thinking this is the last year I can get away with it!! Bigger girl is definately not cool with matching her little sis so we’ve gone with matchy in contrast colours both 4 last Christmas and Easter on Sunday! As yet I have yet to cut out their dresses for Sunday! Cutting it a bit fine?? Not Much 😉
Better go and get to it now!! Hope you and your family are blessed this Eastertide!

Both outfits are adorable! I love the bird wristlet and am completely jealous of your fabric score. Sometimes I match my kids up and sometimes I don’t. My 7 year old loves wearing bow ties, I hope he still does when he’s 9.

So awesome with the white dress with blue satin sashes! I’m doing the same thing for my girls on Easter with thrifted sheets! (Great minds think alike, right!). We matchy match, too for Christmas and Easter.

So cute and she got a bird, too!! I can’t wait to see a picture of all three of them in their coordinating outfits!

The dress is so pretty and I love that blue! We are going matchy for Easter and I am so excited. The girls are wearing pink and gray bubble dresses, I made myself a gray skirt to go with a pink top and the hubby is wearing his gray suit with a pink tie! The holidays are about the only excuse I can use to get my husband to match us 3 girls.

It’s adorable!!! I love the white with the blue sash – it’s just darling. 🙂
And we (I – Mr. FT had nothing to do with it lol) did the matching thing when the kids were little, I loved it. I say go for it while you still can!!

The dress is very pretty. The sash makes the dress and I can see it in different colors.

Our whole outfit is thrifted. A blue boutiue gingham romper with a peter pan collar (so precious) and a vintage, hand made, cream colored sweater with buttons from Great Grandmas button stash. Total price $19.50! It isnt a perfect match but I love it. So no, no matchy matchy for me. I like a little personality.

coordinated outfits are my favourite. I’m already scheming up my first girl+girl+boy outfit set for after baby, lol. I totally had coordinating outfits (same shirt fabric different shirt styles, plus jeggings for both) for Bringing Home Baby outfits for Olivia.
I have a problem. 😉 and I LOVE IT. 😀
spraypainting the headband is a really smart idea! I have a bunch of those, will have to try that!
