These past 2 weeks I’ve been working on my attitude and appearance.
Let me explain how things are going by telling a story.
Earlier this week I bought Grace a package of Grandma’s Chocolate cookies just after Simon went to school. Each package has two cookies. When she opened it up she said “Wow! Two cookies! One for me and one for Simon!”
Grace ate her cookie and then put the other cookie on the table and announced that she was going to save it for Simon to eat after school.
Then, about lunch time I see her break off a piece of the cookie.
“Hey, I thought you wanted to give that cookie to Simon,” I say.
“I am.” she says. “I just wanted another taste.”
A little bit after lunch I see Grace break the cookie in half and start snacking.
“Hey, I thought you were going to share your cookie with Simon.”
“I am. I will give him this half right here.”
Finally about 10 minutes before Simon came home from school I see her just finishing off the last of the cookie.
“Grace, I thought you were going to give that cookie to Simon.”
“Oh..I got to hungry and then I forgotted.”
That sums up my progress this week…I had only the best of intentions but then got side tracked and forgotted.
My attitude though has been a million times better and I’ve tackled jobs around the house that I’ve been avoiding for awhile. But the appearance thing…well it’s been pajama town as usual.
I have so much more to report…(how I used all your laundry advice—which was really helpful, why I wasn’t able to work on my appearance—the reason I was side tracked, my plan for leaving pajama town, and how my new attitude has affected my family) but I can’t. I’ve got to go now. Two little people are waiting for their mom.
Have a good weekend!

I love that – I forgotted. Don’t we all Grace, don’t we all.

Even though I am a grown up I srill “forgotted” all the time too! I think some creative people are just naturally scattered!

It has seriously taken me almost 14 years of marriage to feel like I actually might have this Homemaking thing down…at least sometime in the near future!
