Here’s the story….the other night I was chopping up some T-shirts for a project when all I had left over was the cropped top of a grey one.
Grace was working on a project next to me.
She thought the shirt was funny.
One thing led to another and now she is wearing it like some crazy Flashdance fanatic.
Yes…I’m letting her keep and wear it.
Yes it is in fact just a t-shirt that has been hacked off at the armpits.
The only other thing I did was sew in a casing for some elastic around the arms making it like a three quarter sleeve monstrosity.
She loves it.
Of course she loves it.
And I’m sure you can see her Bacon Shirt shirt peeking out underneath right there in the middle.
So with her “bat shirt” and her bacon shirt she was pretty much wearing her dream outfit….the only way it could have been better is if she was wearing a big old princess skirt along with the ensemble.
As I’m taking her pictures she’s explaining to me that this shirt is her favorite and how I don’t need to “make fabric” any more just make her “all of these” from now on.
Ok.
Forget what I’ve been sewing for the last two weeks…
I’ll just go to the Dollar store and massacre some more t-shirts.

Kids. Sheesh!
Oh well, she’s happy and her happiness cost absolutely nothing.
(Especially since this piece of shirt was headed for the recycle bin.)
And since most of our days are spent playing here at the house she can wear this little lovely all she wants. It’s a mini fashionista miracle.

Here’s to hoping that all your fashion dreams are so easily met.

Thank you so much for your encouragement – so far it’s not looking good, though, but I’ll just continue to make clothes that you like – so that I’ll make it in a future round, haha. Have a happy weekend, both of you!

Is it horrible that I love it? It just screams 80’s love 🙂 I know you don’t want to hear this, but I am totally going to make one for my little girl this afternoon! I think I might fold in the bottom hem to the center in both front and back and finish it off with a bow.

How funny are the things kids say and the things they love. I actually think it doesn’t look too bad 🙂 She is sooo cute she could look gorgeous wearing just about anything.
