My neighbor and friend, Jessica has two nieces from the same family who are currently undergoing chemotherapy at the same time. I can’t even imagine one child, let alone these two girls going through it at the same time. Their story is amazing.
Here is what their website says…
“Tyler and Elisabeth Fish and their children are going through an extraordinarily emotional and financially draining experience and are in need of help. Natalie (8) has been ill since she was 2, seeing doctors and specialists of every kind to diagnose and treat her numerous maladies. Alice (2) began to display similar symptoms and the doctors finally discovered the cause of their illnesses. Natalie and Alice were diagnosed with an extremely rare condition called LEAKY SCID Severe Combined Immune Deficiency. As its name implies, the infection attacks the immune system causing it to fail completely.”
And so Jessica, and family, and friends have all rallied together to have a “Share the Love” event this evening as a fundraiser for these two precious girls.
If you are in the Utah County and would like to go, here are more details.
You can also read more of their story here http://fishesformarrowwishes.blogspot.com/
And even if you are not in the area, one thing we can all do is send our prayers for Natalie and little Alice…they certainly need them right now. Thanks everyone!
Caela says
Get them in touch with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. If it is rare enough they’ll take them into their care, if not, they will work with their current doctors to put together a treatment plan. And they help families who can’t otherwise afford it. Let them know!!!
Will be praying for them.
